Amazon’s Alexa to meet VW

Alexa is one popular lady!

Earlier this week Ford announced that they will be integrating Amazon's voice controlled assistant, Alexa, into its vehicles and now Volkswagen have announced that they, too, will be partnering up and Hyundai are not far behind.

Although, there is no activation date as yet, you can expect great things from this partnership.

Once the integration is complete you will be able to ask Alexa to do almost anything; lock the car, pre-heat the car, tell you how much fuel is left, pause the media playing in the kitchen and resume it once you are in the car; The possibilities are almost endless.

If you are planning a trip before leaving home you can ask for a route and Alexa will tell you how long it will take, it then asks if you would like to send the route to your car. If you say yes, the route will be waiting for you in the navigation system. Vice Versa, if you have left the office later than planned and the dog is home alone in the dark, you can ask Alexa to turn on the lights and heating in your home.

You will even be able to sync your amazon account to your VW Car-Net account to buy supplies for your car and set location-based reminders so you don't forget to pick up dinner on your way home.

This partnership aims to do it all and we are looking forward to the launch.
